Stassi Schroeder has no regrets about showing arguments with her husband, Beau Clark, on Vanderpump Villa.
In the Hulu show, Schroeder, Clark, and their two kids joined her former Vanderpump Rules boss, Lisa Vanderpump, to keep an eye on things at a luxury Italian hotel. While fans might have expected Schroeder to take a back seat while the staff at Vanderpump Villa carried the drama, the You Can’t Have It All author didn’t hold back.
“I’m a reality TV veteran,” Schroeder told Stylecaster while reflecting on her reality TV return. “I know the type of reality TV that people want to watch is real. What’s going on in your life? It’s the real conversations you’re having in private. When Beau and I decided to do this, we were like, ‘Yeah, we have to be real about everything. Otherwise, we shouldn’t be in this line of work.'”
Schroeder added that she was excited to show fans her relationship with Clark, who she married in 2020.
“I’m also proud of the things we were talking about, because I don’t see our dynamic represented that much in other shows,” Schroeder said. “And if it is, it’s looked down upon if the man is more the stay-at-home father and takes care of the household and the mom is the breadwinner. We’re both proud of our lives and the family and life we’ve created together.”
Schroeder and Clark share a 4-year-old daughter, Hartford, and an 18-month-old son, Messer. Vanderpump Villa is fans’ first time seeing Clark and Schroeder’s relationship on TV since leaving Vanderpump Rules in 2020, and keeping it “real” on screen meant including a particularly explosive argument with Clark over him getting a matching tattoo with his sister instead of one dedicated to her.

“I wish it was just about the tattoo. It was just about something more. Like, ‘No, you’re not choosing me. You don’t need to get a fucking tattoo,'” Schroeder said. The argument led to a “cut the cameras” moment and, as Schroeder confessed during an appearance on the Taste of Taylor podcast this week, a trip to couples therapy. But, as Schroeder knows, that’s showbiz.
“It’s not easy to watch. It’s awkward,” she told Stylecaster. “Then to be like, ‘Wow, people are gonna watch this and make opinions and assumptions and pick it apart.’ But that’s reality TV. You have to be OK with people picking you apart.”
