I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Coach is one brand that should never be slept on — like, ever. Similar to most designer labels, Coach has been able to create iconic handbag silhouettes that will remain timeless even after trends fade away. But what really sets the New York-based brand aside from their competition is that they’re affordable. That isn’t to be confused with words like “cheap,” because one thing my 100 percent natural grain leather Brooklyn tote is not is cheap. But compared to other luxury designers, where a small wallet starts at $250, you can find sizable purses for the same price (if not less) at Coach. And I’m not talking about Coach Outlet, either.
Believe it or not, you can find plenty of top-rated Coach bags for under $200 on their site. Everything from the 90s-loved Swinger Bag to the new Coachtopia totes that Gen Zers and Millennials can’t get enough of are all in that price point. You could even find a Tabby bag for under $200. Sure, it’s the mini crossbody version, but nonetheless, it’s still a Tabby that won’t cost you an entire paycheck to buy. Not to mention, that’s its regular retail price. Sure, there are sale bags from previous seasons you could score for under $200, but the purses I’m talking about are all freshly added or classic pieces in their inventory that have been set at an affordable price. See, didn’t I tell you not to sleep on Coach?
Below, I’ve gathered a handful of the best Coach bags under $200 worth adding to your wardrobe immediately.
Tabby Bag 12
After discovering a Tabby bag for under $200, I was inspired to write this story. The Tabby might be the brand’s most iconic silhouette to date, and it now comes in the mini 12 size, which is so adorable. It’s five inches long, three inches high, and a little under two inches wide, so it won’t hold too much aside from a couple of credit cards, some cash, a lip gloss or two, and maybe your AirPods if you can squeeze it in. This is a stylish option to carry to a concert or special occasion where you don’t want to take a bulky tote.
Cargo Tote Bag 20 with Sketch Print
Coach’s cargo tote is another classic from the brand. It’s made from a high-quality canvas fabric and is much bigger than the Tabby 12 but still considered a mini bag. It’s almost eight inches long, six inches high, and slightly over four inches wide. It also has a detachable strap that turns this top-handle purse into a crossbody bag.
Coachtopia Loop Mini Tote in Whisper Pink
Just when we thought the coach couldn’t get any better, they dropped Coachtopia. The capsule collection was made with Gen Z in mind at even more affordable price points. The loop mini tote is a fan favorite for Gen Z and Millennials. It has a similar silhouette to the cargo tote but is made with 100 percent recycled PET plastic and comes in five stunning colors, including this sweet whisper-pink hue.
Swinger Bag 20 in Moonlight
The swinger bag is another iconic Coach gem from the 90s. The 20-size is small but mighty and has enough room to fit all your essentials, like your phone, house key, card case, and a few lippies. Plus, this pretty butter-yellow hue is perfect for summertime.
Under $250
Brooklyn Shoulder Bag 23 in Dark Ruby
If you want to splurge just a bit, reach for the Brooklyn shoulder bag in the 23 size. It’s slightly smaller than the 29 and has a gorgeous gold chain strap that lets you go from a shoulder bag to a crossbody instantly. Plus, passing up in the dark ruby red is almost impossible.
Jonie Bag
The Jonie bag is another fantastic splurge item that won’t run your pockets too deep. Its crescent-like silhouette offers a unique shape and depth to your outfit like never before. It’s available in 14(!) beautiful colors and prints, so you’re bound to find one (or two) that fits your aesthetic.
